as if the stories themselves are listening.The books on these shelves are different.
Some glow very faintly.Some arrived in the middle of the night
without anyone seeing how.And a few have that look about them
as if they might open themselves
if you stand too close.Several shelves are still empty, of course.
The Good Faeries are unpacking

The books like to listen.2. Always touch the spines gently.
Some of them are older than they look.3. If a book hums in your hand,
it is choosing you.
Take it to the nearest reading nook.4. Should Mr. Wise Owl blink at you twice,
he is giving approval.
Three blinks means he is thinking about biscuits.5. Do not worry if a lantern flickers.
The Library likes to underline things.6. If you find a loose page tucked behind a shelf,
it is meant for you.
Slip it into your pocket.7. The faeries tidy at their own speed.
Please be patient.
They insist things are precisely where they should be.8. Never rush in The Soul Library.
Walk slowly.
Let the hush find you.9. If you hear a soft rustle,
it is only the books talking amongst themselves.10. And lastly…
If you discover where the Secret Key belongs,
you may open it.
